We are team of six engineering students from the University College London embarking on our next big challenge. Our journey began in 2021, after a year of minimal social interaction and hands-on engineering experience due to the ongoing pandemic. Determined to make a change, we formed the UCL Rocket team. We designed and built our first rocket, proving to ourselves that teamwork and perseverance could turn into results we were incredibly proud of. Encouraged by our initial success, we set our sights on competing nationally.
Through another year of late nights we managed to place 2nd at the MACH-22 Rocketry competition, enhancing our technical and teamwork skills along the way. Since its inception it was the team’s goal to compete at the Spaceport America Cup, the highest level of competition in collegiate rocketry. This was a massive step for the team, and with invaluable support from our university and industrial sponsors, we placed 10th out of 160 teams.
Our successes in the rocket team lead us to secure competitive industrial placements: Shirom, Adrien and Henry at Red Bull Racing, Anishtan at Nissan, Sophia at Shroders and Nikolas at UC Berkeley (Year Abroad). Now, reunited at UCL, we are ready to take on our biggest project yet…
